2013/10/26 12:00 We had breakfast at Dunkin Donuts this morning.
This is the café inside WCNY which is open to the public.
This latest iteration of my rants and rambles will be much like past versions. The key components will be unchanged. There still may be too much information shared and I am still most definitely weird as all get out. Read on and know there is no premeditation.
After I left SubCat Studio I went over to Awful Al's. I had a couple of Dark N Stormys - Cruzan Black Strap rum and I would like to see the storm please. Liz was tending bar and she remembered me from my last visit. There was a band playing and it was a good time.
Tired out; time for a little relaxing.
Fun on the tire swing. "Faster, Pop, faster!"
The Meer cats were nice enough to line up and pose for me.
2013/10/23 15:00 My friend Michelle moved to Virginia and the coffee mug I gave her more than a few years ago made the trip with her. She sent me this picture from down south.
Robert carried Alice everywhere. Sweet little Alice gets heavy very fast.
My new cupola and new weathervane. I think it looks sweet.
Busted down cupola and old broken weathervane. I have a new cupola and weathervane that I ordered online. The cupola came primed and I just need to paint it before the roofers install it.
Tristan likes his morning paper.
Entrance to studio A.
Hana Zara.
2013/10/24 20:00 At long last I have received the recognition and respect that I deserve and that is due me. We went grocery shopping tonight at Wegmans. We parked and Tristan said, “Pop, this is a great spot. Not too close. Not too far away. There are no cars on either side of us and you pulled through so that when we leave we can just drive away. This is a perfect parking space!” Yes, at last someone who understands.
Little man Jake and his Mom Kate carving their pumpkin.
You can see the retaining wall I have been working on in this picture.
2013/11/02 20:00 A quiet day at home. Enjoying a pleasant Autumn day in the backyard.
Darth Vader outside the elephant paddock.
Alice enjoyed her donut with an alligator friend.
The view from inside on bridge connecting the old and new construction.
The red panda was out and about today.
Pumpkin pandemonium!!
Finished pumpkins on display.
Darth Vader and his companion Bumblebee enjoying the Zoo Boo.
Inside studio A.
2013/10/30 18:00 I went to the open house at the new facilities for WCNY today. The new home of WCNY, our public television station, cost 20 million dollars to construct. It is a combination of new construction and the rehabilitation of old buildings including the old Case warehouse. The facilities are state of the art where WCNY broadcasts both TV and FM radio.
2013/11/01 14:00
Lots of crap growing out of the old roof.
You can see the railings for the front deck that I need to finish in this picture.
Games were played at the Zoo Boo. Here we see Darth Vader shooting some hoops. Use of the force was strictly forbidden. Using the force would provide an unfair advantage and is considered a more serious infraction than the use of performance enhancing drugs like human growth hormones.
Planning ahead seems like a good idea. Someday I am going to try it.
2013/10/28 23:00 The roofers were back today and the weather cooperated. They were able to finish the roof.
Sometimes things don’t work out for me the way I hope they would. Often the reason is because I haven’t planned ahead. Whenever this happens I almost always vow to plan ahead the next time. And I almost never do. These rants, rambles, and ravings just exist. There is nothing more and there is nothing less. There is no plan.
2013/10/27 10:00 Last night we went to Scott Hay's annual pumpkin carving party. Much fun was had by all.
Outside the WCNY studio complex. In front is a rain garden to capture and re-use rainwater.
Having little girl fun at the pumpkin carving party.
"You can't lay on a beach and drink rum all day if you don't start in the morning."
2013/10/27 23:00 The zoo boo was fun this year. We've gone in the past when it's been at night and I think it was better having it during the day. They had stations this year where the kids got candy and prizes. They had to have a card checked at each station and Tristan thought that was great fun. The kids absolutely love the zoo anyways. It was a good time today.
The Sub Rosa Sessions #4.
Alanna Boudreau.
I got this paperback in the mail today. I purchased this book on E-Bay. It doesn't seem to fit with the other pulp fiction in my collection. Or does it? There were 299 page views of the website in October. October, and All Hallow's Eve, has passed without serious incident. On to November, the holiday season, and the start of the Winter cold and snow to come.
2013/10/24 08:30 I am supposed to be getting a new roof today. Not sure if the weather is going to cooperate. The roof I have is in bad shape. I have lived here for about twenty five years and have never done anything to the roof. The roof is very old, possibly fifty years old. I am getting a new GAF fifty year roof. Guaranteed for fifty years so I will be over one hundred years old before I have to think about another roof.
2013/10/21 09:00 I went to SubCat Studios for a concert and recording session. This was the fourth of the Sub Rosa Sessions. Up first was Alanna Boudreau, a local girl from Cortland. She had a beautiful voice and played her own original songs. Next was Hana Zara who is from Vermont by way of Nebraska. She also performed her own original compositions and I found her material to be haunting and poignant. It was a most enjoyable evening. After the concert and the meet and greet afterwards I wandered over to Awful Al's.
The new roof is on. Everything is buttoned up and weatherproof. The new roof is guaranteed for fifty years.
Sweet little Alice enjoying some delicious party food.
Alice picking out popsicles. I told her she could pick out the popsicles. She picked ‘Hello Kitty’ popsicles. I changed my mind and we got generic sugar free popsicles instead. The responsibilities of being the adult weigh heavy on my shoulders.
