Cocktails. Caity and I each had a Midori holiday cocktail. This was Midori melon liqueur and champagne. It was nice. We had some sake that was bottled with coconut milk. It was a little too sweet for my taste. I also ordered a Mai Tai. The Benihana Mai Tai was drinkable while certainly not on a par with the Mai Kai. It had a Meyers dark rum float. The waitress was apologetic when she brought it. She apologized for the 'girly' glass. I was like, bring it. Where's my paper umbrella?
2011/12/31 20:00 Karen, Caity, and I went to Benihana’s for dinner New Year’s Eve. I had never eaten at a Benihana’s. The first Benihana restaurant was opened in 1964 in NYC. It was founded by Hiroaki “Rocky” Aoki. The meals are prepared theatrically at a teppanyaki table. The teppanyaki table is a large steel grill surrounded by wooden eating surfaces. I have been collecting the figural mugs from Benihana’s, along with my more standard Tiki mugs, for years. The restaurant chain no longer serves cocktails in the collectible mugs. Benihana’s today is a corporate owned restaurant chain. The parent company owns the Kyoto restaurants as well. I had a really good time at the restaurant. The food was great and so were the cocktails. I couldn’t ask for better company to celebrate the end of one year and the birth of the next. It will be a very low key evening for the rest of the night. We will just watch some TV and wait for the ball to drop.
Dinner at Iron Hill Brewpub. Dave, Caity, and Sage.
2011/12/30 23:30 Friday night we went to Iron Hill Brewpub for dinner. Karen and I have eaten there quite a few times. It is a regular place for us to go when we are visiting in Pennsylvania. We had a nice dinner and I had some nice beers. What happened in Samoa on Friday December 30th, 2011? It's a trick question. Nothing happened in Samoa on December 30th, 2011. They skipped Friday completely. The international date line was moved and Samoa went from Thursday to Saturday directly; completely bypassing Friday. There never was a Friday December 30th, 2011 in Samoa and there never will be.
Ikea meatballs, smashed potatoes, and lingonberry jam.
2011/12/28 22:30 We are in Media, Pennsylvania. Karen and I left right after work. Usually we have a big fight before we go anywhere on vacation. This time I avoided the fight by just giving in. Karen gave me about thirty seconds to pack and I just walked out of the house with basically just the clothes on my back. I didn’t have time to pack hardly anything at all. I have no netbook; nothing to connect to the internet with. Four days with no internet. Cold turkey. We’ll see how that goes. I drove all the way to Dave and Caity’s house in the dark. I don’t much like driving in the dark these days. To make matters worse Pennsylvania is perpetually under construction and most of the driving was on single lane highways with those large concrete bumpers on either side. It makes me feel like a cow in those chutes at the slaughterhouse. We had to take the Saturn because I never got around to putting new tires on the van. The Saturn doesn’t have a CD player that works and the radio gets really crappy reception. In the Pocono Mountains it’s hard to get a decent radio station even if you have a decent radio. Luckily I was fortunate enough to have the sounds of Angry Birds to make the drive so much more pleasant. Karen played Angry Birds for like three hours while I drove. The best part is every once in a while she would yell out, “Oh no!” This would make me jump thinking I was about to be involved in a fiery crash. “What’s wrong?” I would ask. “I got the Eagle and I didn’t want the Eagle”.
2011/12/29 20:00 Ikea is the world’s largest furniture retailer. It was founded in Sweden. We don’t have a store near us and so it’s a big deal for us to go to the Ikea store in Pennsylvania when we’re traveling. Karen has bought a fair amount of Ikea stuff off of Craig’s list. Those purchases would be Ikea in the wild. Going to the store we get to see the Ikea products in captivity. The store has a café on site where they serve Swedish delicacies. We had a nice visit to Ikea, ate at the café, and bought some stuff.
Two of the biggest fans of the website "Khan Tiki Mon's Bar and Lounge" are Caitlin and Gus. They were lucky enough to meet up with Khan Tiki Mon hisself at the Spaghetti Warehouse.
2011/12/27 18:00 Back to work today. What a bummer. The week between Christmas and New Years is always slow. Heard an interesting story on NPR today.
The annual photo.
2011/12/26 22:00 Tonight was the annual Redmond/Tennant Christmas dinner at the Spaghetti Warehouse. A good time was had by all.
I continued my Christmas tradition where I give my youngest son weapons for Chrtistmas. This Christmas he got two knives. And not just any knives. He got Gerber knives from the Bear Grylls collection. Bear Grylls was in the British special forces, the SAS, he climbed Mount Everest, and he has a popular TV program "Man vs. Wild". He also now has a clothing line and a line of survival products.
Later on Christmas day we were all watching football with the little baby Alice. "Da Bears!".
2011/12/25 23:00 I had a nice Christmas. I hope all of my readers did as well. My holiday festivities got off to a late start because Karen had to work. We ate later than I would have liked. My London broil didn’t come out as nice as I hoped for. But, what was important, spending time with family, that was all good.
Karen is working today. Adison is working today. Robert, Ariel, Tristan, and Alice are in Fabius. It's just me and Michael here now. We'll start our Christmas celebrations later today when everyone gets here.
2011/12/25 12:00 Merry Christmas to all! It looks like Santa boxed the cat in. Stupid cat.
Karen made Ariel’s stocking. Ariel loves Victoria’s Secret. We went to the used clothing store Plato’s Closet and bought a pair of Victoria’s Secret sweat pants and Karen made the Christmas stocking from those. Had a relaxing Christmas Eve. We ate frozen pizzas and watched a movie. Actually we didn’t eat frozen pizzas; we ate hot pizzas that used to be frozen. Frozen pizzas would be hard to eat. I watched the movie “The Losers”. I love that movie. I saw it in the theater when it came out. It’s too bad they will never make a sequel. The movie had Chris Evans in it who went on to become “Captain America” and Zoe Saldana who went on to a huge career and I seriously doubt either of them would come back for a sequel.
We added two new stockings this year. One for the little baby Alice and one for Ariel. Sometimes I refer to Ariel as my daughter-in-law when I am talking to people. It’s easier than trying to explain everything. Of course she’s not actually my daughter-in-law since Ariel and Robert aren’t married. Technically she is my ‘grandbaby-mama’.
2011/12/23 19:00 Karen and I have been introducing Tristan to the Christmas classics on DVD. He’s seen “Frosty the Snowman” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and the other night he saw “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”. Since he saw the Grinch he has been slinking around the house stealing ornaments off the tree and collecting them in a bucket. Here’s hoping he does the ‘good’ Grinch at Christmas and brings them back.
2011/12/24 23:30 The stockings were hung by the chimney with care...
2011/12/21 09:00 Happy Winter Solstice. Happy Midwinter sunrise! The Winter Solstice marks the longest night of the year. The seasonal significance is that the solstice marks the reversal of the gradual lengthening of night. From here on out the nights will start to get shorter. Most cultures in the northern hemisphere have recognized the Winter Solstice with celebrations, festivals, and rituals. Emerging religions tend to co-op the pagan celebrations rather than try to fight them outright and so Christmas falls suspiciously close to the Winter Solstice.
2011/12/22 19:00 The disc jockey I was listening to on the radio today reminded everyone that Christmas is the season when more people want to kill themselves than any other time of the year. He said he felt there were three reasons for this. Reason 1.) Everyone tells you that you should be happy and grateful and you are not. Reason 2.) Family and friends. There is a lot of stress that can be wrapped up with family gatherings. Or maybe you just don’t have any family or friends. Reason 3.) You don’t have enough money. His advice? Life sucks and then you die so just get over it. No one is happy this time of year. If you see someone and they seem really happy they are either a really good actor or they are in serious denial. And no one has enough money, especially in this crappy economy. If you want to check out early it means you are a sensitive soul and rather than surrendering you need to fight back. You can’t let the Evil Empire win. And by Evil Empire he means the soul crushing multi-national corporation that you work for, the greedy bloodsucking banks that brought us near financial ruin and a worldwide depression, and the corrupt and dysfunctional politicians that are bent on making your life worse than it is now. The entire system sucks and it isn’t going to get any better anytime soon. Merry Christmas and a Happy Freaking New Year! For the most part the holidays don’t get me down. I do end up with a little gift giving or shopping anxiety. It seems I am really bad at picking out presents for people. Or at least I feel that I am inadequate. It doesn’t help that my wife tells everyone that I buy her gifts that make her cry. And we’re not talking tears of joy. On the NPR program “Fresh Air” with Terry Gross they were doing a tribute show to the composer Hugh Martin. Martin died in March of 2011. Hugh Martin, with Ralph Blane, wrote the song “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”. The song was part of the score for the 1944 MGM musical “Meet Me In St. Louis”. The song is frequently listed as the third most popular Christmas song. I find it interesting as the song is a little melancholy. “So have yourself a merry little Christmas now”. The emphasis is on the now because we don’t know what next Christmas will bring. You better enjoy what you have now because it might just get worse. The original lyrics are more depressing than the ones most people are familiar with.
“Have yourself a merry little Christmas, it may be your last,
Faithful friends who were dear to us, will be near to us no more.
From now on we’ll have to muddle through somehow.
So have yourself a merry little Christmas now.”
In 1957 Frank Sinatra did a Christmas album titled “A Jolly Christmas” and he included the song “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”. Sinatra told the composer Hugh Martin, “My album is called ‘A Jolly Christmas’ so could you jolly up the song?” I guess you didn’t say no to Sinatra and the re-worked version of the song from 1957 is the one most people know and love.
2011/12/20 22:30 Karen and I had settled in for the night. We were sitting on the couch watching television. Our dog, Brego, was on the couch with us. Brego is not a small dog. She weighs about 55 pounds but she thinks she is a small lap dog. She was sprawled on the couch with us, mostly on Karen, with her head in Karen’s lap. She was a very comfy dog. Our grandson, Tristan, came into the room and he asked his Bamma if she could help him out with something. Karen was tired and feeling a little lazy so she told Tristan she couldn’t help him out right now because the dog was very comfortable and she didn’t want to disturb the dog. Tristan said okay and he left. I could hear him walk into the kitchen and so could the dog. We heard him open the drawer where the dog treats are kept and Brego leaped up off the couch and padded into the kitchen. Tristan came back into the living room with a sly smile on his face and he asked his Bamma if she could help him out with something now? He is a devious little dude.
Tailgating before the game.
My kids at the Giants game. The Giants lost. So sad.
Adison and Michael were at the Giants game today. Adison sent some pictures. I guess it was very cold at the game.
The trampoline is fun with snow on it.
2011/12/18 20:00 We haven’t had more than a dusting of snow so far this winter. The plows haven’t run in front of our house once this winter season. Not complaining just reporting. It has been cold for sure just no snow. Tristan and I ventured outside in the cold for a little while this afternoon. He had some fun.
Scott Adams, the creator of the "Dilbert" comic strip, must read my blog.
Anything new that comes into the house the cat has to sleep on it, in it, or under it. The Christmas tree is no different. Elsie loves sleeping under the tree. She is our little Christmas kitty.
2011/12/11 10:00 Last night Karen and I went to Scott Hay’s annual Christmas wine party. I was feeling better and I timed taking my Benzonatate for maximum impact during the party and it wasn’t too bad. I had a good time considering how bad I still felt from my sickness.
Scott Hays and Theresa at Scott’s Xmas wine party. They are wearing hats honoring the animated Christmas classic “Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer”. Cute.
2011/12/15 23:30 I spent this evening at the Limp Lizard in Liverpool with my friends Marguerite and Michelle. We had drinks and dinner and I had a really good time. Michelle is going to the Giants game this weekend and so is Adison and Michael. I think they are all going to hook up for a tailgate party before the game. Too funny. It’s a small world sometimes. I am finally starting to feel better. I am not 100% yet but I am feeling way better than I have. The one nice thing about being sick and then getting better is it makes you appreciate just how important is our health and just how much we take it for granted when we are feeling good. Peace out.
2011/12/17 11:00 I think it is funny that about a month ago I was ranting about smartphones here on my website and this morning while I am having my coffee with Karen at Tim Horton's I see that "Dilbert" is about smartphones.
A beautiful tree indeed.
2011/12/10 23:00 The Christmas tree is decorated. The Christmas tree is decorated thanks to Karen, Tristan, and Michael.
2011/12/08 14:00 The restaurant chain The Olive Garden has a promotional campaign for their “never ending pasta bowl”. I have come to think of my ailment as the “never ending sickness bowl”. Karen says I whine too much but I maintain that she doesn’t fully grasp just how sick I am.
2011/12/06 23:00 I don’t know what to call this sickness that has taken over my life for the last three to four weeks. Colds and the flu come and go while this thing I have just lingers. The doctor has diagnosed me with acute bronchitis. Bronchitis is the inflammation of the mucous membranes of the bronchi. The bronchi are the airways that carry the airflow from the trachea into the lungs. Bronchitis can be either acute or chronic. I have the acute version. Acute bronchitis has its own unique etiology, pathology, and therapy. Acute bronchitis is characterized by the development of a cough. I have a cough that is debilitating. The cough comes with the production of sputum; mucous that is expectorated from the respiratory tract. Acute bronchitis often occurs during the course of an acute viral illness such as the common cold. While about 90% of acute bronchitis cases are believed to be viral this particular case of mine has been diagnosed as bacterial in origin. I am being treated with antibiotics. I am also being treated with Benzonatate for the debilitating cough. Benzonatate acts as a local anesthetic decreasing the sensitivity of the stretch receptors in the lower airways and lungs, thereby reducing the drive to cough after taking a deep breath. The antitussive Benzonatate is working but the side effects are drowsiness and dizziness. Apparently the bronchitis and the debilitating cough weren’t enough on their own so I also have bacterial conjunctivitis (pink-eye). Bacterial conjunctivitis is caused by pyogenic (pus-producing) bacteria. Conjunctivitis creates a stringy, opaque, greyish or yellowish mucopurulent discharge that causes the eyelids to stick together, especially after sleep. There is severe crusting of the infected eye(s) and there is a gritty or scratchy feeling that makes you feel like there is a piece of glass or fiberglass insulation in your eye. I had conjunctivitis in the one eye but it migrated to the other eye as well.
2011/12/07 10:00 Today is Pearl Harbor Day. They said on the news this was probably the last year there would be a ceremony with the survivors; there aren’t that many left and they don’t travel well anymore. Time marches on and waits for no one.
2011/12/04 19:00 The best part of sleeping on the couch is the animals sleeping on top of you. It’s way better than an electric blanket. Karen was taking a nap and Elsie and Brego provided a toasty topping.
Elsie and Brego; the peacable kingdom.
A Christmas tree in its new home awaiting the decorations.
This is the tree selected by the democracy of one.
2011/12/04 17:00 This afternoon five of us crammed into the cab of Michael’s truck. It was Michael, me, Adison, Karen, and Tristan. We were on a mission to get a Christmas tree. We discussed how we were going to pick out the tree and Tristan said he would pick it out. Adison said that wasn’t fair and that we should vote. Tristan agreed to the idea of a vote with the understanding that he would be the only one voting. A democracy of one.
I put up a brave front in the face of the annual Bristol Christmas party curse. Despite being somewhat under the weather Karen and I still had a pleasant evening at the University Sheraton. I love my wife.
2011/12/04 11:00 Is the Bristol Christmas party cursed? This is a question Karen and I are now left to ponder. It seems every year we attend the Christmas party and every year one of us is sick at the same time as the party. Is this just a coincidence or is there something more at play here? There is no hard evidence that would directly rule out the possibility of a curse. And if there is a curse who or what is behind it and why are Karen and I the targets? We may never know the truth.
If you need any reminders of just how unfair life can be at times I offer this case in point. The dog cannot fit through the cat door. Brego is saddened by the injustice of it.
2011/12/03 14:00 Sometimes life is extremely unfair.
2011/12/01 09:00 There were 263 page views of the site for November. This is a slight increase in interest from last month and so my readership seems to be on the rise again.
2011/11/27 18:00 The sickness continues. I just wish I could feel better. The congestion is so bad that I can’t lie down. I feel better standing or sitting but that makes it difficult to sleep. I have been sleeping on the couch sitting up or propped up. The rest is fitful at best. I can’t sleep for more than a couple of hours without waking up coughing and gagging. I don’t know if it is the medicine or the lack of decent sleep but I am having vivid dreams and sometimes I wake up delirious; seemingly caught between waking and sleeping. I had an X-ray to determine whether I had pneumonia or not and I haven’t heard the results. It must have been on my mind because I had a horrible nightmare about the X-ray. The doctor called me in for the results and explained that I had a parasite living in my lung. She showed me the X-ray picture of the parasite and it looked like a gargoyle. A gargoyle complete with wings, tail, and a sharp beak. The gargoyle was growing and doing some excavation works in my lung to make more room. This of course explained the disgusting gray pieces of lung like substance that I have been coughing up in more lucid moments; they were in fact pieces of my lung dug out by the gargoyle. I asked the doctor about killing the parasite and removing it from my lung and she explained that actually they were more concerned with the gargoyle. It might be a new life form and the scientific community was very concerned with how to make me a more hospitable host. I don’t know how the dream ends because I woke up but it sure feels like the gargoyle is still in there and he’s still digging around.
Thanksgiving Day feast with a 'happy turkey'. From the lower left in the picture is Brego the beserker dog, Karen, my Mom, my Dad, Adison, and Michael.
2011/11/26 23:00 I spent most of today moving Adison – again. During conversation at Thanksgiving dinner Adison explained how she likes sleeping on an air mattress because it’s easy to move. She has been moving a lot and one of the hard things to move is a mattress, box springs, and a bed frame. I agreed (not just because I end up moving it a lot of the time) and suggested that if she is going to continue her nomadic ways she might want to adopt the principle of not acquiring anything that wouldn’t fit on the back of a camel. We left our house this morning with some of her stuff in the van. We went to my parents’ house and transferred the load from the van to the big blue truck. We grabbed some stuff that Adison had been storing in my Dad’s barn and put that in the big blue truck as well. We then caravanned to Ithaca. Adison and I rode in her Toyota. Michael and my Mom and Dad followed in the big blue truck. We unloaded at Adison’s new apartment. We then went to her old apartment, loaded up there, and took that stuff to the new apartment for a second unloading. We had a late lunch, early dinner, at Applebee’s and then we left Adison in Ithaca. I rode back in the big blue truck while Michael drove us home.
My organic free-range turkey.
2011/11/25 09:00 Thanksgiving dinner turned out very nice. The turkey was delicious. I ended up with the best tasting turkey gravy I have ever made. I give all the credit to the turkey. Usually I get up early Thanksgiving morning and start cooking. This year being as sick as I have been I ended up sleeping in until 10:30. With a late start to dinner preparations we didn’t end up having dinner until about 8:00. Last year I had made some individual frittatas for brunch before dinner and Adison requested them again this year. We had those around noon and they carried us to dinner. Dinner ended up being worth the wait in my estimation.
2011/11/20 22:00 Karen and I spent Saturday and Sunday at Marguerite’s camp on Cranberry Lake. Early Saturday morning I made a lasagna and an antipasto to take. We got to the camp late. We started out later than planned and then we missed the turn and drove almost to Tupper Lake. The weather wasn’t very nice, kind of rainy and drizzly, and so we just stayed in by the fire. Saturday night we had the lasagna and the antipasto, drank some wine, and played “Uncle John’s Big Dice Game”. Sunday we played Scrabble and some cards. Marguerite made some scallops. It was a fun couple of days. Just wish I had felt better. I need to kick this ailment.
2011/11/24 11:00 It is a tradition for me to do my shopping for the Thanksgiving Day feast that I am going to make on the Wednesday night before. I did just that this year but truth be told I didn’t have as much fun as usual. I felt like I was walking underwater. This sickness I have just won’t let me go. I spent more money on the feast than I ever have. This year just happened to find me with a little extra cash in my wallet. I went all out and got a “happy” turkey for the feast. Not bragging but my turkey was probably happier than yours. I got an organic fresh free range champion turkey. This was a turkey that went where he wanted, played with his friends, and ate whatever good stuff it is that turkeys like to eat. Karen asked how much the turkey cost and I assured her she would enjoy the dinner more if she didn’t know. We will see just how tasty this turkey turns out to be.
Happy hour at Lake Effect; me and Michelle.
2011/11/19 09:00 Last night I went to ‘Happy Hour’ at Lake Effect in Baldwinsville. While it was originally forecast as a happy hour it became about a four and a half hour happy hour. I didn’t intend to stay out so late but I am not complaining. I had a good time. I had never been to Lake Effect before. They had one of those computer juke boxes that have a zillion songs on them and I played some old songs by the band Tower of Power. When my songs started playing someone in the bar said out loud, “Who played this shit?” The older I get the less bashful I get and I volunteered that it was me that had played the tunes. I think there was only one black guy in the bar, and he was at the bar with his back to me, he turned around and asked me if I had indeed played the Tower of Power. I said, “Damn straight. Best horn section ever.” He gave me a fist bump and said, “You know it bro.” I bought him a shot and we discussed power jazz from the 70s and 80s. My little group at Lake Effect that night seemed to all be armed with smart phones except for me. I think I was being made fun of for not having a smart phone. I really don’t want a small electronic device that is smarter than me. Have we not learned a lesson from Skynet and the “Terminator” franchise? Of course Skynet was a defense system that became self-aware and began the systematic extermination of humans but who’s to say it couldn’t be the 4G network that goes rogue? A couple of weeks ago my phone rang at about two in the morning. I thought who could be calling me at this hour? You have to assume a call at two in the morning is bad news. Turns out it was my phone calling me? My phone suggested that now, two in the morning, might be a good time to delete unwanted messages and texts so there would be more room in memory. Really? Two in the morning? See this is the problem with a smart phone. What was my phone doing, behind my back, that it had this insatiable need for more memory at two in the morning? Anyways, I had a great time at Lake Effect; always a good time drinking with Michelle. I was supposed to make a lasagna and an antipasto last night to take to Marguerite’s camp today but now I am having to make the dishes this morning before we leave.
Karen, Marguerite, and me. It was a nice retirement party.
Marguerite, Michelle, me, and Jody.
2011/11/17 23:00 Tonight was Marguerite’s retirement party. We had it at the Palace Theater in Eastwood. Having it at the Palace was my idea and I have been hoping that I made the right choice. It seemed to be very nice. I thought the food was good and everyone had a good time. Karen and I are going to spend the coming weekend at Marguerite’s camp on Cranberry Lake.
Many people dream of seeing their name in lights but not many are fortunate enough to realize the dream. The sign said, "Marguerite Towne starring in It's A Wonderful Life - After National Grid."
2011/11/16 17:00 I have been very sick and I can’t shake this cold. Maybe it’s more than a cold; I don’t know what you want to call it. Everyone in the house has been sick. My youngest son, Michael, blames it all on his nephew, my grandson, Tristan. He says Tristan goes to school where he interacts with all the other little rug rats in Pre-K. He collects germs, bacteria, viruses, and other biological weapons, which he brings home to infect us. What is Michael’s solution? “Can’t we just wrap the kid in saran wrap?”
Tristan and his 'Agent P' sno-cone.
2011/11/04 12:00 I am killing time at the dentist’s office waiting while Robert gets a root canal. Last night Karen and I went to Ithaca to see Adison and to take her her winter clothes. We went downtown to the commons and had dinner at a place called Simeon’s. I thought it was very nice and the food was outstanding. It was a little pricey and that makes Karen nervous. She doesn’t like spending that much on food. I had an Indian Pork Kabob; super tender marinated pork with red peppers on rice with a curried yogurt sauce. We all had French onion soup to start and it was one of the best French onion soups I can ever remember having. We had a nice conversation with Adison.
2011/11/13 23:30 I took my grandson Tristan to see the live action “Phineas and Ferb” at the Oncenter tonight. I got us second row center tickets. I bought Tristan a twelve dollar sno-cone. The sno-cone was twelve dollars but it did come in a collectible ‘Agent P’ cup. Tristan said he had never had a sno-cone before and this was the best one he had ever had. He then dropped half of it into my lap and I sat in sno-cone for the rest of the performance. For those of you who haven’t experienced sitting in a sno-cone it’s actually not as much fun as it sounds like it could be. I bought Tristan some twelve dollar cotton candy. The cotton candy was twelve dollars but it did come with a Phineas collectible hat. Tristan said he had never had cotton candy before and that this was the best cotton candy he had ever had. After the show as we were leaving I got Tristan a fifteen dollar ‘Agent P’ blaster. The blaster is a plastic ray gun that makes all kinds of lights and all kinds of rackets. Tristan shot all the cars in the Tri-State area on the way home (that’s a joke you won’t get if you don’t watch Phineas and Ferb).
2011/11/01 10:30 On my way to work this morning the bridge over the railroad tracks in East Syracuse was down to one lane because of construction. There were two flagmen directing traffic. One of them wasn’t even looking at the traffic. He had his head down and while one hand had a traffic sign the other hand was busy texting. I hope he doesn’t cause two cars to meet head-on because his bff is all like omg and lol. I am going to finish out the Rants and Rambles for 2011 on this new page V.5.8. There are only two months left for the year. There were 242 page views for October which means my readership is picking up once again.
2011/11/02 20:00 I had bowling today after work. I was a little late and when I got there they were waiting for me. I had to bowl two frames to catch up. Everybody waited while I got my shoes and found a ball. I must have been a little nervous and I didn’t get a warm-up and I proceeded to throw a gutter ball. I followed that quickly with my second ball that only knocked down one pin. I crossed to the other lane and bowled a three followed by a gutter ball. Two frames into the game and I had four pins total. This was the worst start to a bowling game that I can ever remember. I then finished with the highest score I have ever had. I bowled six strikes in a row and ended with a 189. Not bad for having thrown away the first two frames.
Who doesn't enjoy a a good rant now and again? Ramble on!
This latest iteration of my rants and rambles will be much like past versions. The key components will be unchanged. There still may be too much information shared and I am still most definitely weird as all get out. Being fair warned please read at your own peril. Ramble on!
