2016/12/17 18:30 We went to the Erie Canal Museum today to see the annual gingerbread house display. We met Adison and Elliott there.
2016/11/13 17:00 Elliott got his first haircut today. Adison sent me these pictures.
2016/11/18 10:30 Karen and I met Adison and Elliott at Panera for a late breakfast.
2016/11/03 14:00 The cat has figured out how to open the door.
Tristan and his new handheld Nintendo game system.
Danielle has buried Alice in the foam blocks and she seems quite happy with that.
2016/12/11 20:00
2016/12/28 22:00 Tonight was the annual Tennant-Redmond dinner at the Spaghetti Warehouse.
My Christmas antipasto.
2016/11/21 12:00
I put the picture on Facebook. My friend Michele Liquori said, "Your elf looks very strong!".
2016/12/26 02:00 Everything ready for the morning. Time to grab a little shut eye. Everything we have for Christmas is the result of Karen's hard work. It wouldn't be much of a Christmas without her.
Chillaxin' at the mall.
The gang is here.
CD release party - Ian Doherty - at Funk N Waffles downtown.
2016/12/15 14:00 A lot of the people who read the stuff I put on this website have probably thought that I was pretty legit. “How could he be anymore legit?” they might have asked. Well, I am way more legit after today. In a public-key infrastructure certificates are issued by a certificate authority (CA). Certificates are a component of Transport Layer Security (TLS). TLS is sometimes called by its older nomenclature Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). These certificates are used for HTTPS based websites. The web browser can validate that the server is authentic and that there are no eavesdroppers. As of today this site is now a HTTPS-based website. Total legitimacy has been achieved.
Elliott enjoying a half moon cookie.
Mojo JoJo!!
2016/11/18 19:30
What a sweet little girl.
2016/12/22 16:00 Karen and I went to see Alice's kindergarten Christmas concert today.
Grandkids.
2016/11/30 20:00 The music tonight has been awesome. I am surrounded by hipsters and milennials. I must have at least 30 years on everyone here. The girl next to me at the bar is grooving - dancing in place. Not sure if she is bumping into me on purpose. Can two people be a mosh pit? I am the old fart at the bar in a Hawaiian shirt - sigh.
2016/12/26 23:00 We celebrated our Christmas today.
2016/11/13 14:30 Alice and I went to see the movie "Trolls".
2016/12/27 17:00 We went to the "Get Air" trampoline park today.
2016/11/05 10:00 In 2014 I did my “T-shirt of the day” posts. In response to my wife complaining that I didn’t wear a lot of my T-shirts I set out to wear a different shirt every day. I posted a picture of me wearing that shirt along with something about where that shirt came from. I posted a new shirt and a new picture every day until December 12th when I reached shirt number 346. I didn’t stop because I ran out of shirts. I think I just got busy doing something else. I have decided to revisit the T-shirt posts but not as an everyday thing. It has been almost two full years since my last T-shirt post and I still have the shirts I never got to then as well as new shirts I have acquired.
It is very cold outside so we will just hang out here inside where it is warm.
Alice helped.
Wasn't going to leave without a picture of the boy with Santa.
After we left the mall we stopped at Moe's for something to eat. The kid has to dip. Double dip. Triple dip. He is a dipping monster.
2016/12/03 23:00 Karen and I went to the BEA (Bristol Employees Association) Christmas party tonight. Karen hadn't joined the BEA this year and so she couldn't get tickets. I went as Diana's date and Karen went as Trevor's date (or vice versa).
Alice and her Pop Pop. There was my Mom and Dad, my wife Karen, our kids Robert, Adison, and Michael. The grandkids Tristan, Alice, and Elliott. Adison's boyfriend and baby-daddy Mark was there as well.
2016/11/06 15:00 We picked up an hour today with the time change. Karen and I took Tristan and Alice to Onondaga Lake Park to meet Adison for some Pokemon hunting. After we were done hunting the Pokemon and done playing on the playground we went to Heid's for a hot dog.
Photo booth fun.
2016/12/10 19:00 We went to get our Christmas tree today. Alice carried it to the Jeep.
2016/12/23 20:00 I met Adison and Elliott at Shoppingtown Mall. Adison wanted a picture of Elliott with Santa. Shoppintown Mall is a ghost mall. There are very few stores left. All the anchor tenants except for Sears have gone. Walking past all the abandoned stores makes me think of those old western towns being abandoned after the mines gave out. But Shoppingtown Mall did have a Santa.
2016/11/06 09:00 Yesterday we took Tristan and Alice to LaFayette to see my parents and so they could ride on the tractor and play in the leaves. Adison met us there with the little baby Elliott.
Alice put the top on the tree.
If I fits I sits.
The happy couple.
After taking Alice to the trampoline park I went to SubCat Music Studios later that evening for Sub Rosa #35 featuring Sheralyn Jeanne and Elsa Kennedy.
This is the view this morning out my back door. Monday before Thanksgiving we got a lot of snow. A record amount. It was the second snowiest day in November since records have been kept. The previous record was set in 1944.
2016/11/24 23:00 We had Thanksgiving at my Mom and Dad's house. We had the meal catered by Wegmans so that my Mom didn't have to cook. On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving I picked up the big box that had the Thanksgiving meal in it.
2016/11/08 15:45 The little baby Elliott and I did our civic duty and voted. Actually I voted and, no lie, the little baby Elliott climbed up on the table and tipped over the voting blinds. The little anarchist! I am so proud.
Karen says I can't call him the little baby Elliott anymore.
On the way home from LaFayette we stopped at Webster's Pond to feed the ducks and geese.
First snowfall of the season.
2016/12/13 12:00 I picked up Elliott this morning at his Mom’s house and we went to the mall at Destiny USA. We had breakfast at Panera. Then we walked around the mall. None of the stores were open yet but they let you walk around. Elliott made friends with these two young ladies that worked at Victoria’s Secret. They were putting holiday sale decals on the windows outside. Elliott helped by picking up the trash and knocking over cardboard boxes. He was totally captivated by the cute young girls until he found a lose tile in the floor. He figured out if he shifted his weight he could make the tile wobble and it would make a clicking noise. That was entertainment for quite a little while. We were leaving when the woman working the customer service desk left her kiosk and ran to give Elliott coupons for free carousel rides. We were having so much fun that Elliott didn’t want to leave and he employed the ‘board’ trick that he has recently learned. If you make your body as stiff as a board and don’t bend then you won’t fit into the seat. It takes a lot of determination to pull it off and sometimes tickling undermines the entire strategy.
Pokemon.
Robert and Alice enjoying a half-moon cookie.
Shed in place.
2016/11/06 22:00 I went to the movies tonight and saw “The Accountant”. I didn’t know anything about the movie before I went. It was the best movie that I have seen in a while. The plot was intelligent. The movie had action, suspense, humor, and was non-formulaic. There was a great cast and the acting was top notch. All well-developed characters. Ben Affleck, Anna Kendrick, J.K. Simmons, and Jon Bernthal. I would highly recommend seeing this one.
Elliott with his great-grandpa.
2016/11/05 13:00 I got a shed moved to the pad I made. It wasn't pretty but it got done. I lost my balance and pitched forward when we were setting the shed down and I ended up hitting pretty hard. I ended up sprawled out on the floor of the shed.
Every year Tristan and Alice pretend to play checkers after exploring the canal boat.
The cat doesn't care how much snow is outside.
2016/11/02 09:30 Autumn is slowly slipping away. The weather was nice yesterday. It should be nice today as well. There is rain called for but probably not until later this afternoon. I hope to get some work done outside before the rain comes.
I continue to work on updating the pages here on my website. I have finished 84 out of 114. There were 1,880 views of the site for October. That is the most ever.
2016/11/08 10:00
2016/11/04 22:00 It dried up enough today that I was able to stain the pad I made for the sheds. I should be able to move the one shed to the pad tomorrow.
Michael and Brego.
Alice named the little stuffed puppy 'Christmas'. Christmas is hanging out with Trooper.
2016/12/08 23:30 Finished up another project. Years ago I had to break holes in the ceiling under the upstairs bathroom to make repairs. I never patched the holes. I put in a new ceiling instead of patching the holes and now if the need arises it will be easy to reopen access to the bathroom drains.
We went to the annual fundraiser at the Rosamund Gifford Burnet Park Zoo. It is called Art Gone Wild. The animals paint and the results of their artistic endeavors are sold to help pay their keep. Some of the art is auctioned off, silent auction, and some is raffled off. This year we didn't get a new piece for our house but we bought one for Adison for her birthday.
2016/12/25 23:00 We are actually celebrating Christmas the day after this year because that's when we have Tristan and Alice here all day. We will open presents tomorrow morning. Tonight we are having dinner here. Adison, Mark, and Elliott came. So did Michael. I made an antipasto for starters and then a sirloin tip roast with potatoes, carrots, and roasted brussel sprouts.
2016/11/14 14:00
2016/11/02 21:00 I was able to work outside today. It was a beautiful Fall day and I was able to finish the pad I am making for the sheds. I was done and had all my tools put away before the rains came.
The turkey was delicious.
The Trooper cat.
After the checking out the gingerbread houses we went home and celebrated Robert's 31st birthday with pizza, wings, and an ice cream cake.
Pokemon hunting this morning was a bit chilly.
The next dry day I will stain the pad and then move the shed here.
2016/11/20 23:00
The turkey was pre-cooked and vacuum packed. I put it in the oven at my house for two hours to heat it up. Then we took the turkey and all the side dishes that came in the box to my parents house.
Trolls fart glitter and poop out cupcakes.
2016/11/01 16:00 The election is about one week away. I can’t wait for it to be over.
Next I need to put stone down around the pad.
Elliott was terrified of Santa and so there was no Santa picture to be had. I did get a picture of him posing with a penguin.
Every weekend Tristan and I watch a couple of episodes of the "Flash". We are big fans. We both got Flash shirts for Christmas and we wore them tonight when we watched the "Flash".
2016/11/22 14:00
Later we went to Destiny mall to get Pokemon cards. Elliott pushed the stroller across the mall bridge.
This latest iteration of my rants and rambles will be much like past versions. By now you know the drill.
The deadbolt for the screen door has to engaged now to keep Trooper inside. Karen has to have the door open so the cold air can blow in to counteract the hot flashes.
My annual photo.
Adison sent this picture of Elliott and Winnie watching the trash getting picked up.
2016/12/18 15:00
2016/12/21 22:00 I went to the SU basketball game tonight. I was a volunteer with PACE CNY. This has never happened to me before. I bought a beer. I got a Dogfish IPA. They serve it in a plastic cup and seal it with a plastic lid. When I got back to my seat I had a beer grenade. I guess if you have a gaseous brew you need to vent the cup. The cup was bulging, the lid was seriously domed up and the bottom was all pushed down. The game was terrible. SU lost to St. John's 93 to 60. The people behind me were very vocal that the dance cam should have just been left on for the entire second half. They said more people would have stayed because the dance-offs were really pretty funny. Oh, and the game sucked.
When Elliott got antsy he watched Sesame Street; Elmo and Mr. Noodle.
Merry Christmas.
Elliott says, "I get so much salsa and queso all over myself it's a good thing I travel with backup clothes."
Baritone uke.
Had breakfast at the All Night Eggplant this morning.
2016/12/12 10:00
I took Alice to the trampoline park. She took Christmas with her. Alice his sporting her new 'do'. She got her hair cut shorter.
Winter is coming. Humanity began in Africa. People lived where it was warm. Then people started walking north to where it was cold and inhospitable. Why? We weren’t designed to function in icy darkness. Winter, for many animals, is a time for hibernation. Not so for humans. I live in a place of sometime ice and snow. The chill will not slow these rants, rambles, or ravings. Not as long as the hearth is warm.
