2016/09/08 09:30 Honeydew melon. It's what's for breakfast.
I wore my safari hat.
I had an Irish Bloody Mary; vodka and Guinness. Tristan had the 'best burger ever'.
2016/10/15 19:00 I got the frame I made for the pad that the sheds will rest on moved back to its final resting place.
With Diana and Meredith at World of Beer before the movie.
2016/09/24 21:00 We were going to do more Pokemon hunting today. I called my daughter to let her know that I was on the way with Tristan and Alice. Don't bother she said, "Elliott is in an ambulance right now". Excuse me but I am going to need a little more information than that. The little baby Elliott had fallen out of his stroller and hit his head. A lot of blood but no serious injury. The EMTs cleaned him up and put a bandage on the wound. Adison called back and said the Pokemon hunt was back on and could I bring her a shirt to wear since hers was covered in blood. We got to the park and went to White Water Pub to eat before the hunt and to charge up cell phones which are needed for hunting Pokemons.
2016/10/31 22:00 Today was Halloween proper. Our friend Katie was at the school Halloween parade and captured this picture of Alice as Black Widow.
We watched Theresa's kids today along with the little baby Elliott.
For some reason I am recalling lines from my most favorite of poems; a poem of unrequited love.
I saw her in Winter’s silent cold light
Clearly, with her warmth upon the sparkle
Of that magical, crystalline night.
And love I knew unspoken passed,
Its timeless warmth, one frozen instant,
Eternally encased in infinite amber.
But what I sensed I could not return;
The instant vanished in that crystalline storm.
In vain do I call through this dancing myriad
Of relinquished emotions, frozen fragments of time.
For the moment has passed, now lost in that swirl-
Splintered shards of time’s reflection-
Reflections for the Winter of my soul.

2016/09/01 23:30 I went to the Great NY State Fair tonight. I went by myself.
Leaving the fair.
Spam sliders with caramelized onions and Bob's homemade Chinese mustard.
Site prep. The pad for the sheds will go here.
Second picture of Elliott online.
Torches by the lake.
2016/09/04 20:00 Went to Watkins Glen International Speedway with Michael for some Indycar racing. Open wheel racing.
This latest iteration of my rants and rambles will be much like past versions. I will share too much information. I will be boring. I will be so very weird. As always the only way is forward. You can’t go back. That is never an option. You can’t go back no matter how much you might want to.
2016/10/05 23:00
2016/10/18 20:00 More progress today on the pad that will hold some sheds.
2016/10/30 09:30 It is a quiet Sunday morning. The kids are still asleep. Karen is still sleeping. It's just me up and at it. We went to the Zoo Boo yesterday at the Burnet Park Zoo. We met Adison and the little baby Elliott there. Had fun at the zoo and then later we went to Wicked Woods at Green Lakes State Park.
Battle scarred Elliott with his blood stained shirt.
2016/09/01 16:00 The last days of Summer.
2016/09/11 09:00 I went to 'Tikipalooza' at Bob's Tiki Bar last night.
I took a walk down the midway. After the major renovation done this year it is really quite different. The midway is much more open and a lot cleaner. I can remember my first trips to the fair and how sleazy the midway was. Forty years ago they still had a sideshow and there were strippers. The "girls" would sit on stools outside the tent looking bored out of their minds while a barker would try to entice people walking by to come in. I say "girls" but the strippers all seemed to be middle aged at best. They were probably old showgirls from the days of vaudeville. All in all it was pretty depressing.
Karen did Alice's makeup for the zoo boo. Alice did her own makeup for Wicked Woods.
Luau themed family picnic.
2016/09/17 20:00 Dinner at Chili's.
Bamma and the lion cub.
2016/09/06 19:30 Dinner outside by the fire. A beautiful night.
I really want a hot tub. It won't happen this year but it will next. This is the hot tub I want. Mine will be a darker brown outside and blue inside. I have researched it and the best place to buy this is at the fair. I talked to a salesman there. He lives in California and he is a surfer. He says every year they bring about a thousand hot tubs to the fair. They sell these for almost two thousand less than retail and there are no shipping costs. Next year.
"Powerpuff Girls" blanket.

2016/09/01 08:30 It is the first day of September; the first of the Autumn months. The Summer went by too fast. I think I will have the pool just about perfect just in time to close it for the season. Last month, August, had the most visits to my webpage ever. I can remember years ago when I used to average 200 page views a month. Last month I had 1,728. I am in the middle of some serious housekeeping on the site. I am renovating all the pages so that they display better on mobile devices. Once all the behind the scenes stuff is done I will start working in earnest on the content. There are 109 pages on the site now and I have 46 upgraded for mobile.
There was a giant iguana hanging out poolside with us.
After the race was over it took forever to get out of the parking lot. Michael and I were standing outside the car waiting for cars to move. A guy about twenty yards away spotted me and must have thought this guy looks like a kindred soul (Hawaiian shirt and big hat). He came over with a brown paper sack with a bottle of Bourbon in it. He shared his Bourbon with me and we talked for awhile. It was fun killing some time with him.
2016/10/04 09:30 I am back after five days in Florida. Had a wonderful time but now it is back to the daily grind. Watching Sesame Street with the little baby Elliott.
2016/09/22 09:00 Seriously?! Get this thing off me.
Riding the carousel.
We ate in the food court. We bought Pokemon cards for both Tristan and Elliott. Later at home Tristan and I watched three episodes of the "Flash". That is Tristan's favorite show and the two of us watch a few episodes every weekend.
It is still rainy and chilly this morning. We won't be doing any outside stuff today I don't think.
2016/10/23 09:30 We met Adison and the little baby Elliott at the mall yesterday. A lot of other people must have had the same idea as us. The mall was crowded with people coming in out of the rain.
Elliott wore an Hawaiian shirt to the luau and ate cookies bigger than his head.
After lunch I went back to the hotel and hung out by the pool with Vance and Diana.
2016/10/16 15:00 Karen and I met Michelle at Modern Malt in Armory Square for brunch. We got to meet her new friend Alex. Old friends Marc and Carl were there and we met Jon. It was a really nice time. We were there for about three hours.
2016/10/16 09:30 We are out of cat food. When that happens the cat starts breaking stuff. More than usual. The little baby Elliott and I are on a mission to get cat food. Also sandwich stuff because we are out and Karen gets cranky. Not as destructive as the cat.
2016/09/02 13:00
Have lederhosen will travel.
2016/10/20 11:00
2016/09/18 11:00 Eggs Benedict with my daughter and the little baby Elliott.
Smokers.
It was a wonderful day.
Elliott loved the penguins.
Terminator.
Ended the busy day with frozen yogurt and fruit.
2016/09/07 14:00 This is the best the pool has looked all Summer. The water is crystal clear. Perfect. Just in time to close up for the season.
2016/10/22 10:00 I started this webpage more than nine years ago. When I started the website mobile devices weren’t really a thing. My site has displayed poorly on mobile devices. I have spent the last few months updating things so that the site displays better on mobile devices. I still think the site looks better on a desktop than on a cell phone but I am making things display properly no matter what the platform. I still have quite a bit to update. Today I finished updating my Festiki 2010 page. The pictures aren’t as good as what I post these days because my cameras have gotten better. There are 110 pages on the site and 74 are now updated. That makes it sound like I am farther along in the process than I am. All of the easy pages have been done. I am thinking that I have another two months before I will be done. I would like to be done before the first of the new year.
It has been raining a lot for the past few days. Everything is wet and yucky. The winds are cold and it is best to wear a jacket when venturing outside. The shoes I have been wearing all Summer are no longer going to cut it. My feet get wet when there are puddles. My socks get wet. We were going to go get more pumpkins today but because of the weather I think we are going to just hang out at the mall.
2016/10/24 17:00 I have finished updating my Hukilau 2009 page. The first Tiki event I went to was the Hukilau in Fort Lauderdale just over seven years ago. When I say I have updated the page I mean I have configured it to display properly on mobile devices as well as desktops. The content is unchanged. Whatever I wrote seven years ago is what’s on there now. The only postscript; the only thing added is the event mug. Seven years ago I was on a shoestring budget and I couldn’t afford the event mug. A year or more later I bought the 2009 Hukilau event mug from the estate of Tiki-Kate. I added that to the page in 2010 or 2011.
On the mall bridge.
The new main entrance to the fair.
A couple of years ago I had contractors put in a door to the backyard off the dining room. It took two years for me to put in the patio and stairs. During that time the only one that used the door was Brego. She would leap out the door. She couldn't jump back in. She would come in the other back door. I started building the stairs this summer. The first thing I got done was the landing. Brego would still leap out the door but she would leap out over the landing. The dog didn't trust my construction I guess. It took her awhile but now she is comfortable with my work. She lies out on the landing and surveys her kingdom.
2016/10/03 13:00 Ohana: Luau by the Sea is over. It is Monday and my flight home isn't until early evening. I went to lunch at Pirate Republic Bar, Seafood & Grill, and had a delicious lunch with good friends.
2016/09/25 20:00 I went to Sub Rosa Session #33 - Stevie Tombstone with special guest Ralph White at SubCat Music Studios LLC.
The little baby Elliott has joined the hunt. My first time hunting pokemon. I told the kids I am okay to tackle them in the grass but I am not going in the water.
2016/10/09 20:00 Pumpkin picking at Pumpkin Hollow today.
It's a conflagration.
Combustion.
2016/10/23 23:00 Karen and I took Tristan and Alice to a birthday party today. It was Nathan Best's sixth birthday and the party was at Merlin's Ice Cream and Bounce House.
2016/10/16 23:00 I went to Sub Rosa Session #34 - Catalina & Simplelife at SubCat Music Studios LLC. tonight. Great show.
The pyre waits.
Deviled eggs, peel n eat shrimps, chicken wings, Fogcutter, a Scorpion - bring on the spam sliders.
2016/09/09 09:00 Karen and I watched a couple of more episodes of "Homeland" last night. We have been picking a series to watch and then watching 2 or 3 episodes every night until the show is over and then we pick a new one. We watched "Penny Dreadful", all but the last season. We watched "Stranger Things", which was very good. We watched "Mr. Robot". I really liked "Mr. Robot". We watched the first season on Amazon which was free with my Amazon Prime. The second season of "Mr. Robot" they are charging for so Karen said we can't watch it. So, we moved onto "Homeland".
2016/09/10 10:00 Ten days into September. How can the time fly by so fast? I think traditionally most people close up their pools right after Labor Day. I have historically waited far too long to close up mine. This year we are going to close up before all the leaves drop into the pool. But, we are still open today and Alice wants to go swimming later. It is going to be hot outside but I fear the cool nights have made the pool water a little too brisk for my tastes. Autumn is well underway and I am determined this year to get my nuts squirreled away before Winter. This year I am going to be ready.
This afternoon I am headed out to Rochester for Tikipalooza. Tikipalooza takes place at Bob's Tiki Bar; where the meat is smoked & the drinks are cold (Zombie free since 2004). Last year the rains were epic. Hopefully it will be nicer tonight.
2016/10/30 16:00 The little baby Elliott is famous. He made it into the Syracuse newspaper; both online and in print. There were two pictures of him online and one in the paper.
The little baby Elliott rode his trike today.
2016/10/13 17:00 I was guest bartender today at PACE CNY for Octoberfest.

2016/09/23 15:30 Centerpiece I threw together for the PACE family picnic.
2016/09/22 19:00 I am building a pad to put some sheds on.
Super freaky! Super freaky!!
Karen and Winnie handing out candy.
Hard to eat corn on the cob with missing front teeth.
2016/10/26 10:00 I finished updating the Hukilau 2010 page yesterday. I have now finished updating 78 of 110 pages.
October is almost over. Autumn is almost finished. Winter is on the way and it might be a tough one this year. Our Summer was warmer than usual and so the Great Lakes are warmer and probably won't freeze this year. That means more lake effect snow.
I started going to the gym again. I joined Planet Fitness and I am determined to get healthier. I want to be able to stop taking some of the medications that I take. If I lose some weight it should help my sleeping.

2016/09/11 20:00 Pokemon hunting at Onondaga Lake Park.
No bouncing after eating....especially greasy pork chops.
2016/09/28 09:00 I had a very strange dream last night. I have been doing a lot of construction around the house. I have been remodeling, repairing, and renovating. I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos on DIY (do it yourself) projects, Anyways, in my dream last night I had a large decrepit barn in my backyard. I was trying to fix it up and I found a large altar in the barn. It seemed fairly ancient. There was a stone base with glyphs carved into it. You couldn't make out the glyphs so I got my pressure washer and cleaned them up. A large part of the altar had fallen down so I rigged up a block and tackle and got it upright. Karen came out and saw what I was doing and she was very upset. She asked me what was I thinking? What if this was some kind of evil altar that was a portal to some horrible nightmarish other realm? I didn't have a good response and while I thought there was a chance she had a valid concern I felt compelled to complete the repairs. I don't usually finish anything and my dream was no exception. I woke before the altar was restored.
2016/09/29 17:30 I am in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for the second Ohana: Luau by the Sea. It could have been the worst flight ever from Charlotte to Fort Lauderdale. Would have preferred to be surrounded by screaming and crying kids. Instead sitting right behind me was this loudmouth super ignorant racist douchebag Nazi white supremacist spouting his vile distorted views. After about 20 minutes I wanted to punch him so bad I was in pain. Luckily I had a Radio Free Bakersfield podcast saved on my tablet and I had a pair of over the ear headphones. Thanks Jorge Spahn.
Windy day. Hot dogs at Heids.
2016/09/05 17:00
Vampiress.
On my way to see "Young Frankenstein" on the big screen at Destiny Mall.
Super freaky!
The little baby Elliott as a monster. Karen went to Adison's house to hand out candy while Adison and Elliott went Trick-or-Treating.
2016/10/02 13:30 I am having a great time at Ohana: Luau by the Sea. I took a break from the Polynesian Pop and the rum and walked across the street to an Irish bar, Waxy O'Connor's, for lunch. There was a rugby game on and the place was crowded with raucous fans. Normally I would have grabbed a seat at the bar and eaten there but it was too crowded. There was a cute Latina near the front door that I took to be the hostess. I asked her for a seat. She didn't seem to speak very good English but we soon established that she didn't work there. "Oh," she said, "you thought I worked here". I said I was sorry, don't know why I said that, and she moved in and gave me a big hug. And she didn't let go. She said no need for an apology. "I don't work for you," she said, "but if I did how much would you pay me? How much for an hour?" I extricated myself from her embrace, checked to make sure I still had my wallet, and found a table to sit at. The waitress recommended the shepherd's pie, which was made with lamb, and it was totally delicious. I washed it down with a Guinness.
Great party.
On the playground at Onondaga Lake Park.
Adison was a lion tamer and the little baby Elliott was a lion yearning to be 'born free'.
Summer comes to an end and Autumn begins. The changing seasons have little to no effect on these rants, rambles, and ravings. Time passes and seasons change. Time marches on. While Autumn has just begun I can feel Winter. Winter is waiting; ready to creep up on us.
